Instantly in one paragraph
Instantly is a flat-fee cold email platform built for volume senders who care about inbox placement: unlimited connected accounts and automated warmup on every paid Outreach plan, modular Instantly Credits for SuperSearch / enrichment / verification / AI agents, and optional CRM and Inbox Placement tabs. It is not an Outreach- or Salesloft-class enterprise sales engagement suite, and it is not a per-seat multichannel AE tool like Lemlist. If your job is email-first outbound with many inboxes—and you are willing to assemble lead data and extras as separate line items—Instantly is in the shortlist next to Smartlead. Everyone else should read the 90-day math first.
List price vs 90-day reality
Official Instantly pricing and the plans overview (checked 2026-09-14) list Outreach as flat per workspace, not per seat:
| Outreach plan | Monthly | Annual (~20% off) | Emails / mo | Uploaded contacts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Growth | $47/mo | ~$37.60/mo | 5,000 | 1,000 |
| Hypergrowth | $97/mo | ~$77.60/mo | 125,000 | 25,000 |
| Light Speed | $358/mo | ~$286.30/mo | 500,000 | 100,000 |
Meters that bite: uploaded contacts are a fixed pool across all campaigns (delete or archive to free slots)—not a monthly reset. Email volume resets monthly. Unlimited email accounts and automated warmup are included on paid Outreach. Trial is limited (help docs: 250 contacts + 1,000 emails; pricing page: no card required). Hypergrowth / Light Speed can add +$87/mo for +25k contacts and +125k emails.
List price is the Outreach line only. Most teams that actually ship volume also buy Credits (SuperSearch, verification, AI), sometimes CRM or Inbox Placement, and often domains / DFY or pre-warmed mailboxes. That is the gap between the sticker and a 90-day burn rate.
Illustrative 90-day stacks (monthly billing, USD)
These are planning scenarios, not quotes. Google Workspace seats bought outside Instantly, and list vendors you already pay, are excluded unless noted.
A — Solo founder, email-only test
Outreach Growth $47 + Credits Growth $47 ≈ $94/mo → ~$282 / 90 days.
Add three DFY Google inboxes (~$5/mo each ≈ $15/mo) → ~$327 / 90 days. Annual Outreach alone drops toward the ~$37/mo band if you commit early.
B — Small team / agency pod
Outreach Hypergrowth $97 + Credits Supersonic $97 ≈ $194/mo → ~$582 / 90 days.
Optional Growth CRM $47 → ~$723 / 90 days. Three operators still pay one Outreach fee—cost-per-seat collapses until the email/contact ceiling binds.
C — High-volume + private infra path
Outreach Light Speed $358 + Hyper Credits $197 ≈ $555/mo → ~$1,665 / 90 days.
Add Inbox Placement Hypergrowth $97 and a handful of pre-warmed Google accounts (~$10/mo each) and you are often in the ~$1,900–$2,200 / 90 days band. Light Speed is where SISR (dedicated/private server and IP rotation) shows up.
Seat math: Instantly does not multiply Outreach by headcount. You hit walls on contacts, emails, and credits—then you add the $87 Outreach add-on or jump tiers. That is the opposite of Lemlist’s per-user curve.

What’s included vs what’s extra
Think in tabs, not one all-in SKU. What Outreach includes vs what you buy separately is where 90-day budgets go sideways.
Included with paid Outreach (Growth → Light Speed):
- Unlimited connected email accounts and automated warmup
- Campaign sending within the plan’s email and uploaded-contact limits
- Reputation / bounce protection, analytics, scheduling, API access
- Tier gates: fuller Unibox and Deliverability AI Agent on Hypergrowth+; SISR on Light Speed
Extra — Instantly Credits (SuperSearch, verification, enrichment, AI):
Credits are a separate subscription. They power SuperSearch (450M+ B2B contacts), lead enrichment, lead verification, AI reply / sales agents, and Website Visitors—not campaign email sends.
| Credits plan | From (monthly) | Credits / mo (guide) |
|---|---|---|
| Nano | $9 | 150 |
| Growth | ~$47 | ~1,500–2,000 |
| Supersonic | ~$97 | ~5,000–7,500 |
| Hyper Credits | from ~$197 | 10,000+ |
Help Center credit usage (approximate): 1 credit for an Instantly-verified work email, 2+ via partners (1.5 average), ~0.5 for enrichment rows; AI agents consume credits per action. Credits-only without Outreach caps campaign uploads hard (help: 250 leads). Hyper Credits add-on: +$425/mo for +50k credits.
Extra — CRM, Inbox Placement, phone-adjacent modules:
- CRM: Growth $47/mo, Hyper $97/mo (emails, calls, SMS, tasks, LinkedIn connections in Instantly’s CRM module)
- Inbox Placement: Growth $47/mo (unlimited one-time tests); Hypergrowth $97/mo (one-time + automated)
- Calling / SMS live under the CRM module—not inside base Outreach. Budget them as extras if your motion is phone-heavy; Instantly is still email-first infrastructure.
Extra — Domains and mailboxes (DFY / pre-warmed):
- Domain ~$15/yr
- Pre-warmed Google ~$10/mo per account
- DFY Google ~$5/mo; DFY Airmail ~$4/mo
- Without an Outreach plan, DFY / pre-warmed accounts pause after trial
Bundles on the pricing page (Starter / Scale / Agency) combine Outreach + Credits at list totals around $94 / $194 / $555 monthly—useful if you know you will buy both tabs anyway. Annual bundle discounts are smaller than the ~20% annual cut on Outreach-only in some cases; model both.
The honest takeaway: list Outreach ≠ full stack. SuperSearch, verification, CRM, Inbox Placement, and mailbox infra are the line items that turn a $47–$97 sticker into a few hundred dollars a month.
Instantly vs Smartlead decision matrix
Both sell flat, unlimited-mailbox cold email. Public Smartlead pricing in the same window: Base ~$39, Pro ~$94, Unlimited Smart ~$174, Unlimited Prime ~$379 monthly (annual ~17% less)—also not per-seat.
| Decision factor | Instantly wins when… | Smartlead wins when… |
|---|---|---|
| Product surface | You want modular tabs: SuperSearch Credits, Inbox Placement, AI agents, optional CRM | You want a simpler sequencer ladder with CRM / verified emails bundled earlier on mid tiers |
| Volume band | Hypergrowth (~125k emails / 25k contacts) or Light Speed + SISR | Pro (~90k) or Unlimited Smart/Prime (~150k–500k) fits your send ceiling |
| Lead data | You like paying Credits for SuperSearch waterfall + verification as you go | You prefer more verified prospect emails included on the plan |
| Ops taste | Comfortable assembling Outreach + Credits (+ CRM/IP) | Prefer fewer billing tabs and Smartlead’s warmup / reply ops in trial |
| Agency shape | Flat Outreach for many client inboxes; Light Speed for private infra | Unlimited Prime-style private infra + workspaces if that ladder matches |
Choose Instantly when SuperSearch + Credits AI + Inbox Placement / SISR match how you buy leads and protect placement. Choose Smartlead when Instantly’s modular tabs feel like over-assembly, or a same-week trial shows better reply ops / deliverability on your domains. For LinkedIn + calls as the default AE motion, shortlist Lemlist (per-user) or a true SE platform—not Instantly with CRM bolted on.
Who it’s for / who should skip
Buy Instantly when:
- Outbound is email-first and you need many sending accounts without per-seat tax
- Volume maps to Growth (test), Hypergrowth (real programs), or Light Speed (high volume + SISR)
- You already have lists—or will fund Credits separately—and care about send infrastructure and inbox placement
- Agencies / pods want one flat Outreach line while operators share Unibox and campaigns
Skip (or park as secondary) when:
- You need enterprise multi-channel SE (forecasting, IT SSO, call/SMS/LinkedIn cadences as the core product)—Outreach/Salesloft class, not Instantly modules
- Every AE needs LinkedIn + phone as default in one per-seat UI—Lemlist (or similar) is cleaner
- You only need a CRM or a lead database—Credits without Outreach, or DFY without Outreach, are incomplete jobs
- Volume stays tiny forever—Growth’s 1,000 uploaded-contact ceiling is a workspace pool; a lighter Smartlead Base or list + SMTP may be enough
Getting started without burning domains
Unlimited inboxes are a feature, not a license to nuke reputation in week one.
- Separate sending domains from your primary brand domain. Buy redirects; never cold-send from the root you use for customers and billing.
- Warm before volume. Use Instantly’s automated warmup; keep per-inbox daily send low (many operators cap around ~20–30/day while ramping). Pre-warmed accounts (~$10/mo) buy time; they do not buy immunity from bad lists.
- Authenticate everything: SPF, DKIM, DMARC on every sending domain before the first campaign.
- Verify lists. SuperSearch / Credits verification or an external verifier—high bounce rates burn domains faster than any sequencer setting.
- Run Inbox Placement tests (Growth $47 / Hypergrowth $97) on copy and from-domains before scaling. Treat spam-folder results as a stop sign, not a suggestion.
- Respect contact ceilings. Growth’s 1,000 uploaded contacts is a fixed pool—archive dead segments so you are not stuck mid-quarter.
- Trial on a sacrificial subdomain, measure placement for your copy and infra, then compare the same week on Smartlead if volume economics are the only open question.
Next step: start on Growth or Hypergrowth with a Credits plan sized to how many verified emails you actually need, not the biggest AI bundle on the page. Wire purchase through AFFILIATE_LINK_TOOL when you are ready to subscribe.
